Congratulations to all of the the winners and runners-up for the 2010 Professional BC Wedding Awards!! Winning these awards is a significant and substantial achievement. The Professional BC Wedding Awards is an independent organization committed to finding the best of what is offered in BC’s wedding industry in an unbiased way. The winners on our list have been determined to be the best through a fair and just process. It is the independence of our organization that ensures that this years winners and runners-up have achieved their title through outstanding work within the industry. Winners and runners-up were announced and awarded on December 1st 2010 at our gala night held at District 319 in Vancouver.
Wedding vendors from all over the province submitted entries from weddings they were involved in this past year. Judges then scored those entries anonymously, meaning that winners were determined by the actual product or service that they have delivered and not anything else. The entry that scored the highest score by the 4 judges won that category. Runners-up that are listed below should receive a notable mention as they have done very well. In order to receive a runner-up award those companies had to score within 5% of the winning entry! All score results have been reviewed and confirmed by McLean Bartok Chartered Accountants in Vancouver.

These awards have been established to award some of BC’s best wedding vendors with recognition, but what will that actually mean for the winners? The winners basically receive a whole lot of press , online coverage and direct email information going to brides. The winning companies will immediately be seen as industry leaders from the view of new prospective clients. Winning an award is a significant and prestigious accomplishment, but most importantly for you it would be an excellent promotional tool for your company.
I sincerely hope that in addition to being something fun and bonding for our wedding industry, that these awards prove to be a useful promotional tool for those companies who receive an award. Thanks to everyone who has already submitted and if you haven’t already, what are you waiting for? I’m happy to say that the deadline has now been extended to October 22nd!

We are super excited to be launching the Professional BC Wedding Awards this year, a platform to recognize some of the best work in the BC wedding industry. The decision was made to focus the awards on a provincial level since most wedding planning and decisions are made on a more regional basis rather than a national basis. Ultimately the results of these awards will become a useful tool for brides and planners who are looking for the best for their own wedding experience. We sincerely hope that award winners will experience a boost in their own business by being recognized for an award. If the winners have been scored by the judges as being the best of all the submissions then they deserve that boost!
The deadline for submissions this year is October 15th 2010. To be considered for an award a company needs to prepare their own submission and send it in so that it can be put into the judging system.
